  • For You Pages are perhaps the biggest ‘explore’ pages, so it is easy to be discovered as new talent and there is always the chance to go viral!
  • TikTok’s demographic has one of the smallest age ranges, as it is primarily for young people.

Instagram reels 

What you can do:

  • Just like TikTok, reels used to be strictly 15 seconds and now their maximum is 60 seconds. 
  • Videos can be edited with multiple clips, sounds, links, texts, doodles and a lot more. 

Why you should do it: 

  • There is a familiarity with Instagram, as many people use it from all ages. 
  • Reels can be an expansion from profiles to spice up your regular feed.
  • It is the perfect complement to the image-sharing side of the platform. 

YouTube Shorts

What you can do:

  • YouTube Shorts can be a maximum of 60 seconds long - a huge jump from their long-format videos with no time limit. 
  • Breaking away from their mould again, Shorts must be filmed vertically rather than the typical landscape shot. 

Why you should do it:

  • Text, music and filters can all be added to the Shorts. 
  • YouTube has dominated the scene for many years when it comes to videos, so it is the natural place to go for video content.
